R4 not working

    Hi just wondering could you help? We are turning on DS with R4 in it, and it just shows Loading. Once I put chip in to PC to view, message appears to "format disk. If I do format disk will this delete all games stored on R4? What should I do?

    Hiya ALemonis-
    You can make yourself a folder (I leave mine on my desktop because it's easy to get to), and name it Games or something if it helps.
    Drag ALL your chip contents (I'm thinking it's an SD card), and place them in your new folder.
    Once empty your free to format your card.
    When your done - pop games/files back in.
    Do you know how to format yor card??

    Hi Bekcy, thank you for your response. But it won't let me view anything in order for me to transfer or copy into folder. Once I click on through "My Computer" the message appears "You need to format disk in drive J: before you can uset it". Am I doing something wrong?

    Your MicroSD is probably corrupted.

    You will have to format it to see if it will work again.

    If its a original R4 that uses firmware v1.18

    Then try this new firmware, plays alot more games then that of the orignal kernal
