Hey i found a review for this M3 Real http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=61187 (Heaps of images.)
Hi, I have an R4 and my buddy has the M3 Simply. We switched to compare and they both seem the same, function wise. I really don't know why the prices are different. That boggles my mind as well. I guess it's all on preference. Sorry...not much input. :-\
Actually the hardware inside of them is a little bit different and they use different firmwares, but they basically are the same.
The hardware inside the R4 and the M3 Simply is identical except that on the M3, two points are soldered together and on the R4 they are left unsoldered. The firmwares on both are based on Moonshell source code, R4 themes work on the M3 and M3 themes work on the R4, the DLDI patch for R4 works on M3 etc. etc. The devices are so similar that if you pull apart your M3 and desolder the two points you can turn in into an R4 and vice-versa. The M3 DS Real is the next version of the M3 Simply. It has more features, comes with a Rumble pak, GBA support, Opera RAM, however I don't think it supports the original DS (without extreme case modification ).
Oh sweet, GBA support, that's awesome! Off topic - I just spilled juice onto my keyboard and some of the buttons are really stiff like a cheap Rubik's Cube. Good thing my good one is downstairs... I can't keep a glass of liquid in my room without ruining my keyboard. Happened three times so far.
the two versions of the M3 are made by the same company, but the real has more features than the simply (and probably costs more)
