R4 keeps causing SD card to require formatting

So a year ago my SD card required being reformatted since the screen was stuck at the LOADING part.
Only problem was that I broke my micro SD card reader.
Yesterday I bought a SD card reader because I wanted to play DS again.
My CD is version 1.16 so I just use 1.18 from last year that I had.
I play DBZ for some time. Then I turn off the game.
When I come back to play again. It's stuck on the loading screen and I need to reformat the SD card again.

This happened like 5 times now in 2 days.
Can someone please help me!?!? I really want to play DS games again!

 

The games that you want to play may have AP. Whenever you load a game and it get's stuck don't instantly think that the micro sd is broke because it's probably not.
What games are you trying to play?

 

The games don't freeze. They run perfectly. It's sometimes when I turn my DS back on, It's stuck on the LOADING... screen.

So the micro SD card is faulty? or the R4 itself?

 

So, if I format the card and just leave it out for some time it should require reformatting again? even without it being used? and then that would guarantee it's the micro SD card that's faulty?

Get a new MicroSD card. The 2gb are fairly inexpensive even by my standards (and I very rarely have more than a dollar or two).

After that, we'll direct you towards some better firmware (since it sounds like you have an Original R4).

If you are using a R4 original you could upgrade your kernal to either

Wood R4 v1.12

I couldn't get them to work but I used that activekill disk thing and we'll see if it works!

Can i ask what Flashcard do you use an R4 Original or a Clone?

 

I dee kay, I guess it's a clone?

 

Then Wood R4 wont work and YSMenu v1.17a13 also not

 

he can still run ysmenu and the only thing you need to update is the ext info sav

If your R4 flashcard as SDHC on it then its a clone...

 

No, my R4 isn't SDHC. It's just plain SD and if it is a temporary fix. I can always do it again. I can back up my save files every once in a while too!
