I had a DS lite. Got a R4 (black) and life was grand for my son.
The DS lite was still in warranty and the hinge broke.
I sent it in for repairs and they replaced it with a factory restored/new one.
I put in the R4 that previously worked on the orgional DS lite.
Well...... it no longer works on the replacment???? :'(
What do I need to do in order to get back to the way life was before?!?
this is what I have on the R4 card.
Software for the black R4 card - R4-English-1.23

What doesn't work about it? Games won't load, card won't load? Does it say it can't find the menu? Do regular games load?

There is no reason why the card shouldn't work as long as the MicroSD has all the firmware on it. The DS Lite doesn't have any upgradable firmware, so nintendo couldn't do anything to it to block cards.

Well, there are firmwares on the DSLite, but they can't block anything, unless Nintendo has a new DS lite brand, which we be any flashcart player's nightmare. Maybe there's bad contact with the DS, or your card broke from overuse. R4 has issues, so wouldn't be surprised.

How do they break from overuse? you mean the contacts wearing off on the R4 card or the sd card itsself running out of rewrites?

I reformatted the SDcard... aded the software back onto the SDcard
    Cleaned the contacts...
And all is good in the world...
