r4 gold help

    i recently bought a r4i gold
    i bought one with a micro sd
    i have been trying to formatting my microsd i followed like few guides
    i formatted it to fat32 and put the system files on there
    but it stills goes tothe home menu for the ds saying there is no card in there
    can someone give a step by step guide to format the sd card correctly
    please and thank you

    but to answer your question we need more info
    what r4i gold do you have, there's like 7 of the clones?
    is your DS a DSi with 1.4.1 firmware?

    Do you have a geniune R4i Gold? And is it DSi 1.4.1 updated?

    it a dslite i never updated it
    and sorry about being in the wrong section
    i am not sure about being real i know you have to open it
    but i dont know how to open it
