R4 for ndsl problem

Hi all. For some reason I have lost the opening pictures month etc ....... I can still play the games with no probs. It's just a problem with the graphics at the start. Could anyone shed any light on this for me please. I have just added the latest kernel v1.25. This works but same problem with the graphics.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Cheryl xx

 

I think you may have enabled the slot-1 auto play. This will bypass the DS start screen where you have the Calender, and can choose the DS game or GBA game, Download play, picochat, etc. and will just start the game directly.

I cannot remember where that option is though. Sorry! I'm sure someone else knows.

Ok. I found out how.

Remove your card from the DS and turn the power on, on the bottom (Under the GBA game location) is a little DS symbol that is the Settings menu.

Click it.
Click on the "Wrench" (Options)
Click on Icon on top which shows an Arrow poiting Right into a Rectangle. (Start Up)
Here is Manual or Auto mode. You want it set to Manual Mode.

What does your DS system do when you turn the power on without any card in the slots?

 

The R4 takes over the boot firmware and skips it. Besides, if you had the option to automatically boot whatever is in a slot, with nothing there, it wouldn't do anything. So taking out the cart is all that is needed.

 

I didn't know the R4 took over your DS like that. The CycloDS and Acekard both have to started from the Main Menu of the DS.

 

Unfortunately, so do many others.

 

When is 1.25 released? i though R4 is dead.

 

I think he/she is using the R4 SDHC (Latest firmware for that card is 1.25)

The R4 SDHC also is called "R4 for NDSL" (According to Linfoxdomain's description).

 

Yes. The latest official firmware for the original was 1.18.

 

Does clones not work with the orignial 1.18 firmware?

 

They should still be compatible with the original firmware though.
