hi, my little brother deleted everything off my r4ds so it was completely blank. i tried downloading the 1.18 firmware and putting that on it but every time i start it up on my DS it gets stuck on the loading screen. its an original r4. does anyone know anyway to fix this or will i have to get another?
Make sure you are putting the 1.18 firmware on it correctly. It cannot be in any folders, and it must be extracted. If you extract the files and it comes in a folder called "English" or "ENG" you need to take all the files out of it. Ysmenu should work on a R4 original card , that if it is as kernal v1.18 should work on it from www.r4ds.com Try formatting your card befor placeing new files onto it Are if you wish to try ysmenu as it will run some of the newer games like zelda ST and mario and luigi BIS http://forum.romulation.net/index.php?topic=27617.msg466427#msg466427 If it says SDHC on the card then its a clone...
It works on an R4 original with a DSL yes, but if you have an older DS they is sound problems I have two R4 originals

Different firmwares. 1.18 is the old official firmware for the R4. 1.24 is an updated firmware created by another team which added more compatibility.
