I have a question. I have recently bought a new DS lite for my 4 year old son. The N5 card that I have given me was incompatible with the DS firmware. I tried my partners R4i Card and it works fine, so far. I am wondering whether or not to buy him the R4i card or buy him the R4 SDHC card for his DS Lite. My only problem is that the R4i card and the R4SDHC purchased from the same online store point to different web sites when you download the firmware. I am unsure if one may be a fake. I downloaded the R4i software from http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/indexe.asp and the R4 SDHC is from http://www.ndslr4.com/index-en.htm. The shop that I have always purchased my cards from is http://www.ds-gaming.co.uk/index.asp which does state that they are genuine. Is it recommended that I stick with the R4i or buy a R4 SDHC? Any advice would be appreciated.
I also use the firmware from http://www.r4i-sdhc.com/indexe.asp and it fine for me. I also like the website of games-engine.com to download games, movies, MVs and other files.
I have a R4 and mine works perfectly, just buy one from Ebay. ( A trusted seller if possible.) My mom bought me, my little sister and my brother one for christmas 2 years ago off Ebay. Not every single one is going to be fake. ( R4 is the best. ) It's quick and easy to use.
Unfortunately it's not the best, but it doesn't stop people from thinking it is. And the big problem is there are about 20+ cards out there with the R4 name, and they like to trick people into thinking they are THE R4. And the majority of them have bad support, bad compatibility, and are nothing more than knockoffs. If you are happy with your R4, that's fine. But there are better cards out there that don't cost a ton. And if people go out trying to find R4s they are going to stumble into these numerous clones and copies, and are going to be confused, cause headaches, etc.
