I recently purchased an R4 for my NDS, and by all accounts it's legitimate. I put all the required software, updated my firmware, and downloaded my roms in .nds form. However, when I go to plug my R4 in with my 2 GB (or is it MB? Idk whichever one is recommended for R4) attached to it and the NDS starts up and goes to a black loading screen! It is pitch black with white loading letters in the center of the top screen. I have left my NDS for an hour and it is still on the screen...loading. How can I make my R4 work? I've tried everything! :'(

It would be GB :p If you're sure you have 1.18, you're probably going to have to wait for new firmware. Or you could try backing up and reformat your MicroSD.

Awww....really? That's a disappointment! Well maybe I'll be really super lucky and SOMEONE SOMEWHERE will have a magical solution to my problem. :D

Unlikely, unless they have a patched R4 firmware or something which makes this game work.

Okay, this probably sounds like a horses*** of an idea, but hear me out, at the least. Oh, and I'm taking into account that you've never gotten your R4 to work properly to begin with.

Reformat your MicroSD card (preferably in FAT16, or FAT)
Add the required 4 files (_DS_Menu, _DS_MSHL.NDS, the _system_ folder, and the moonshl folder, including all subdirectories and files within each folder)
Add 1 NDS file (I don't care which one, just one for now, okay?)
Boot up your R4 inside your NDS
If it claims "Cannot find RF/SD card.", turn it off, take the R4 out, take the MicroSD out, and reinsert both (I have no idea why this even happens, okay?).
If it still does not boot up to the main menu, then...well...you're f***ed. I'm afraid I don't know enough about hardware to even think about playing around on the insides of it.
