R4 disabled

Hi, I have 2 R4 for theds lite. Both have suddenly stopped working. I have tried them in a different machine but that is the same. They load but then will not allow you to load an actual game as it all freezes. is there a problem with R4's generally or is it just coincidence that both of mine have stopped working today?

Try setting your DS' date back a year ago and see what happens.

What R4 is it exactly and what game are you trying to play?

 

I had this same problem. Formatted the card, updated my kernal, and still nothing worked. Then I tried this "turn the system clock back" solution and it worked. If someone knows or could explain why that happened I'd be quite curious.

wow the date thingy sure makes me curious. why is like that anyway?? :-\

 

The firmware developers put it in there on purpose. I have no idea why, it just makes their product appear broken. Updating your firmware fixes it though.
Or maybe it was a bug in the firmware that caused it.

Either way it's not the actual DS that is the problem, and it reflects poorly on the flashcart developer in question.
