R4 deluxe

I mentioned in a previous post that I have been having problems with my R4. It got stuck on the loading screen and formating the SD card didn't work at all. So I called my guy and he gave me a "better" (his words) R4 called the R4 deluxe or R4 advance. Everything worked fine but I find that some of my old ROMS don't work anymore. These are the same ROM rars I downloaded from this site and worked on my old R4. I unpacked them then loaded them to the new R4. The game loads but after the opening scene, I get either a white or black screen.

HELP!

Anyway, problems with my old R4 started when I loaded the Star Wars game I got from this site. :'(

 

Star Wars pretty much doesn't work at all on an R4. What games aren't working? You might want to try an alternative R4 firmware called YSMenu if you're desperate for better ROM compatibility. http://www.mediafire.com/?m2zwdnmwkzm

I think its also Power Pool but I can't quite remember the name.

I haven't tested the other games yet but it's been half and half on the ok-fail ratio so far.

Um..how do I install the YS Menu? hehe.

 

For YSMenu, delete all R4 known firmware files, and then just put YSMenu straight on. Easy.

Also, for your R4 Deluxe, have you got the latest 1.20 firmware?

 

im not sure. the guy at the shop just fixed it all for me.

 

Well, it should state the firmware version on the R4 menu in the Games selection.

 

The games may need to be trimmed to work with the new r4. Also higher firmware version 1.21 is the one I use www.r4sdhc.com to find firmware. I have all of the games mentioned working on my NEW r4

 

No, it's only good for removing the redundant data, nothing else.
