R4 Cheat

so i updated my firmware to v1.18 the newest one i believe
and then i added the CHEAT.DAT from http://cheats.gbatemp.net/
and when i try to start a game (ROM: 3540 - Pokemon Platinum - USA)
the cheat (y) button thing didnt show up.

anyone know possible ways to fix this ?

Get the USRCHEAT.DAT.

 

I've used both types of files, and even got the R4 code modifier and I'm still not getting the box saying I have cheats saved to it. For Platinum like this guy. I followed your directions and I'm still not getting anything.

 

Narin hasn't updated the cheat.gbatemp.net page in quite a while. There wouldn't be a Pokemon Platinum cheat in those databases.

Use the cheat databases found on this page. They are updated as of March 29th and do include the Pokemon Platinum cheats.

 

I used the cheat databases from the page you linked and I'm still not getting anything. I followed the instructions on the page too. I put both the cheat.dat and the usercheat.dat into the system folder and nothing is coming up. I don't know what's going on.

 

If I remember correctly, there's a program that lets you modify the cheat.DAT  Just take the cheats you don't use/need and put the ones for the games you use the most on top.  That's how I got my Platinum ones to work.

Also have one cheat.dat.... from what I've read before, only one is needed.

 

Errmm. May i suggest an alternative firmware to try. It's updated just read this article and follow the instructions:-

Or you could download this ready made package - courtesy of CJ Dogger, i use it and it works with all cheats.
You must note that this uses the USRCheat.dat file instead but it is updated firmware:

pugmalion1, he's been back for a week now; official database has already been updated. bidoofus, use R4CCE (preferably from Yasu) to edit the databases, you should already be using usrcheat.dat.

 

Ah, good to know. I'll add the new update when I get home.
