R4 Cheat Option Disappeared!

I tried to update the cheat database on my R4, but now there's no cheat option at all!

I have tried the .dat from GBATemp and I've tried renaming it "usrcheat" but still, the cheat option isn't there!

Anyone have any ideas?

 

You shouldn't have renamed it to usrcheat and you should only have one dat in the system folder

 

I didn't rename it, but it wasn't working so I renamed it and I did only have one in the folder.

 

Which one did you download, mine is UE cheat.dat

 

Tried both the UE one and the full one. ???

Well it works with me, try redownloading it, delete the old one, not replace and put in the new one

 

Nevermind, fixed it! ;D I reinstalled the firmware and it worked (which I tried before and it didn't work!). Thanks for the help though.

usrcheat.dat is the default name for the R4 file system..

 

Then why does it come with cheat.dat? Why is the GBATemp cheat database named cheat.dat? Just curious.

 

usrcheat is just what it's named: USER cheats. It's the .dat file you place on _system_ for user-added cheats with the cheat editor.
cheats.dat is the official cheat file for the R4, it has a different file format tho, so dont expect to be able to open it with their cheat code editor.

I can open the cheats.dat with R4CEE...

 

The default cheat database file is usrcheat.dat, you can use cheat.dat in newer R4 firmwares. You can open any .dat or .xml file with R4CCE.

chose the cheat(Y) button is missing by the games that in the changelist that are in the usrcheat.DAT and in the cheat.DAT from gba.temp is sayed that there are new codes/cheats for the game like (Pokemon platinum). so please guys help me out.
