I bought this from Ebay with the Mario Edition 3DS. The games were just mostly white screens. Son put cart in his DS and the games worked. Somewhere between swapping the cart between 3DS and DS, cart was erased. I formatted the memory card and downloaded the Kernal and Firmware. I followed another site to setting up a R4 cart. It stated to copy Kernal files to cart (no firmware). I dump some Roms on it... DS works flawlessly, 3DS some games work, but I get error (DS cart missing please reboot) after playing the game for a few minutes. Cart: R4 3DS new Site: r4itt.net Unit 1: DSi Unit 2: 3DS (I have 2 3DS units) I am assuming the cart needs the firmware update too.. yes/no ? If yes, what do I do with the firmware folder that has the files ? TIA!

Here is the files I downloaded: New2.37_English.RAR (Kernal) + fwUpdate_V5.06.RAR (Firmware) I did NOT do the firmware update and the 3DS firmware has never been updated since I bought it near X-Mas. I think the cart needs firmware upgrade, but I am new to DSi/3DS
If you have downloaded are complete and aren't corrupt extract them both to the root of the Sd card i believe you should place the fwUpdate_V5.06.nds file on the root when you insert the card it might automatically start the update But if it doesn't and runs like normal run the .nds file like a game And it should start the update process follow on screen instructions Make sure your device is fully charged and remains plugged in throughout the process Do Not Turn Off Your Device Even if the device seems to do nothing for ages leave it alone and it should complete It shouldn't take to long but i have no experience with this device

Your welcome im glad i could help I do not own nor do i have any experience with this flash card But if you provide me with the exact error message i might be able to find some information on it A common way to fix errors is to backup your .nds files and saves without saves is cleaner but you will lose progress Format sd card to defaults And place official firmware files on the root and see if that fixes the problem
