Is there any way of soft modding a PS2 with out having to use a swap disk that you have to buy online?

Soft modding, no. Although you can get a memor32 memory card and use it as a removable modchip.

Thanks Loonylion, I knew that they probably made something like that but the price $63.00 seems a bit steep. I suppose it would be worth it.

I was also thinking about swap magic, codebreaker, or ArMax. Which of the three is best in your opinion?

I've never used a swapdisc. Memor32 seems pretty good but I've not got around to testing it very widely yet. It plays dark cloud, which was the reason I got it.

How much did you pay for yours?

50 euros I think from memory.
