download imgburn (free program, google it), install it and run. Choose 'create disc from image' and locate the image file you extracted, then in the speed box choose 2x or 4x. Click burn. Also make sure you use a decent brand CD, such as TDK or Verbatim, Avoid using disks with no label or that aren't a well-known brand

memorex should be OK, but if they still don't work try a different brand; some work better than others.

change the open box to 'all files' and choose the .cue file if there is one, otherwise choose the .img file.

that happens when the game is a different region to your PSX (PAL/NTSC). Nothing can be done about it other than getting a copy of the game that is the correct region for your PSX.

Black and white happens when you play a NTSC disk on a PAL TV (usually its older TVs that have this problem). If you have another TV in your house then try using that instead.

Happens the other way around as well, and the age of the TVs are irrelevant. PAL and NTSC use different colour encoding schemes that are incompatible (although you can make a PAL decoder with two NTSC decoders)

    Hi,

Many good televisions are able to switch between different regions; my TV can switch between Japanese NTSC, American NTSC and PAL. You can find out if your TV is capable by fiddling with the TV/AV button & checking how many modes it can cycle through.

Please post your results, it will likely assist people who look at this board in the future.
