Hello I've been expiriencing weird noises from my PSX. I use it as a CD player, and it is connected to my stereo (so not to a screen). When it's playing a CD, it plays like normal, but sometimes it gets alot of lags and weird noises, making the sound horrible to listen to. I have an DVD player connected to the stereo and if I play the same CD with it it works fine. I have it in an open area, so it can "breathe" fine, and there is no dust near it. Well, how can I fix it? PS my model is C1829134, and the region is PAL (if it has something to do with that). EDIT: Slamming on it stops the noise for a while. Just to let you guys know. And the CD is burned with WMP 9.
I blowed in it and now I only had to slam on it once, but I got a feeling it's going to do it again in the next track... Plus I followed the warning and I never touched the lens.
From any supermarket, cd shop, dvd shop, game shop etc. Its just a cd with a little brush on it, it cleans the lens each time they pass over it.
I haven't seen them in all nearby shops... But it works fine now again. I replugged the audio cables.
It's either that your PSX's lens reader mechanism is about to die, or the motor is getting mis-aligned from it's track. You should bring your console in for a maintenance check at a trust-worthy Sony service station.
Thing is, it reads games fine (judged by the music as I don't have it connected to a screen). I'm thinking on switching my PSX and my DVD player's inputs on the stereo to see if that works. I've been expiriencing problems with this input slot in the past (VCR/LINE, the other slot is CD, the only slot left then is Phono which isn't good for music).
*cringes There's no such word as blowed! The word is blew! ;v) You sound like my kid sister when she was about 6! ;v)
You do know that I'm not originally English right? I learned it as "blowed" so no offence but that's how I learned it. But on topic it has begun again and it also begun by my younger DVD player (peeps while playing the disc). EDIT: They are whole different sounds, though. *sigh* this ain't gonna work...every device I use is making noises...
*cringes Its - thats how I LEARNT it. you sound like my kid brother when he was 6. lol Just messing yoshi If every device is making noises, whats the one thing thats the same?
That the CD can't be read from most devices. I mean, how high is the change of succession when your computer even can't read it? I'm going to try with my TV's build in DVD player, though.
If everything else is different - different leads, speakers etc then theres only one thing left. Its your cd. Burn another one.
But......... *sigh* dammit. And no it isn't my CD. It's ours. Yes I burned it and all but my mom collected the songs. And yet another reason to hate CDs T^T
