PSX is the name given to the original playstation. Before the PS2 was released.

PSX games are played on the PSX. The Playstation 1. They can also be played on the PS2, PS3, and PSP, because all those systems were built with backwards compatibility.

You need to convert it to eboot. It's Playstation.

wow... so psx games can be played on PSP. Does the games occupy the same amount of space?
and how do we convert it exactly?

popgui or PSX2PSP are both good converters. Depending on the compression settings a EBOOT is usually a bit smaller than the PSX ISO.

Can we convert PC and PS2 games to PSP too?

    --------------------------------------------------------------
so that i dont double post...

i found this http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/524060 and its a brief guide of converting PSX bin to PSP compatible. It used the game "Chrono Cross" as an example.

    QUESTIONs:

    1. Is this guide applicable to the PSP console or to the emulator?

    2. Ive never done converting before so, how does a 2 CD game works?

Given that lets say you finished disc 1 and you need to "insert" disc 2?

PC and PS2, no way, although there is a DOS emulator which played some of the reall old school dos games, extremely hard to set up though.

There is a thread in our tutorials section on converting PSX to PSP if I remember correctly.

And no PSX games work fine (if not better) on the psp slim as well.

i tried, and i failed. I tried again and I failed again. I tried a third time, and I failed a third time. *sigh*
Can someone spoonfeed me on this? Im having a hard time trying to use some PSX games.

    a few questions:
    1. Can you use the games that you can get download here in romulation and convert it to eboot?
    2. Do you need to mod your PSP to read the games?
    3. Do you need to make the icons, descriptions, wallpapers , animation of the psx game before you can play it?

I used PSX2PSP and Ice Tea, made no luck.

    PSX2PSP wont work, it says

    "Cannot open C:/Documents and Settings/Server/Desktop/PSX2PSP v 1.4.2/Files/BASE.PBP"

Im trying the game "Hoshigami" by the way.

Yes you can use romulations PSX isos
Yes your PSP needs to have custom firmware
No you dont need to have icons ect to play.

As for the base file I think I posted a link to my base.pbp in the tutorials section under the PSX2PSP tutorial. If not ill try and find it again.

CFW PSP cans run PSX games that have been converted to EBOOT.PBP. To make it full screen press the home key in game and change the screen size.

^ you need a special battery and a magic memory stick, check the PSP FAQ in the tutorials section.
