Does a psp have to be modded (ie downgraded) to play these, I know the psp itself may need software to go play it...

Just curious, having problem aquiring a psp that meets the requirements to be downgraded, but if a "stock" psp can play old psx games with just a software loader and the games themselves converted, I'll be happy...somewhat.

EDIT:There are several firmware types, and soo many custom ones...

Which version is best to get out of the custom ones, is getting a custom 5++ the better option (to enable more current games) or is that incompatible with 64 roms and psx roms...

I want MAX compatibility with my psp (both homebrew/emulators and official stuff)
