Can I copy the contents from my 8gb microsd from my PSP Slim and put it on another microsd card and that card will work OK in my PSP Phat.

Or should I copy my Roms/Gpsp/PSX stuff, and after formatting the new card, put them on after the PSP Phat creates its own x/mb menu/folders etc.

Just format the new card on your PSP first and then transfer the files and over-write the folders and files on the newly formatted card.

I did it for my friend's PSP Slim.

Should work just fine on a phat except for the GBA Emulator.

Why wouldn't the GBA emulator work on the phat?
My PSP 1000 runs the GBA emulator just fine, even large games like Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories.

    Oh.

    I never knew that.

I always thought it was a Slim exclusive.

    Thanks for the info. :)

    So just to clarify Ace

Copy PSP slim card onto Laptop
Put new blank card in Phat and select format
Connect Phat to Laptop and copy everything back-and the Phats filesystem will be replaced by the slims filesystem/folders(as they should be the same foldernames).

    Yes.

Just overwrite the files/folders that need to be over-written.

OK,Ill give it a blast on Sunday.

And,if I choose to do it,what would happen if I put another 8gb card into the microsd=>sony produo adaptor to bump it up to 16gb.Do I need to do anything to the card.

You'll need to re-transfer everything and then format the card on your PSP and transfer everything back on again so that it'll work properly.

The two cards act as 1.

I dont know what you mean-can you expand on that.

Basically the 2 cards act as one when in the Pro Duo Dual Memstick thingy.

And you will have to do what you're doing now to it.

Format it on the PSP and then transfer the files back onto it.

OK,cheers Ace,I think I know what you mean.

Remove current 8gb card(with games on it)
Insert new 8gb card and let PSP format it
Put 8gb card with games back into slot 1 and new 8gb card in slot 2
PSP should say capacity about 16gb and I just put any new stuff into their respective folders(like before) and it'll all work, with a tiny reduction in loading speed due to reading 2 cards.

Both cards dont show up at the same time, for some reason. If I put either one into either slot on the adaptor, they show up and work. But if I put both in at the same time, only one shows up.

But is the size of the one the combine total of the two? Ace said earlier that having two in it treats them as one drive.

They combine to make one card basically like Tirrith said.

The card adapter combines the two Micro SD cards and uses them as one single card.

So, if you have an 8GB and 2GB Micro SD cards in the slots, then you will have 10GBs in total.

But you have to format the card when both of them are in it and if you take one out, the other won't work unless you reformat it.

I can say that I formatted each card at a time/seperately,maybe thats how it didnt work.

Ill try it next Sunday-so cheers guys
