To buy pre-modded PSPs you'll probably need to look on Ebay.
Every PSP at the store I currently see is a 3000 model.

Even my old PSP 1000 uses 8 and 16GB cards without problem, so I believe any of them can use the max 32GB card without any issues.

And I have no idea what you mean by Folding.

It might be easier to get a standard psp (aim for an old one-easier to hack) and use some of the guides on our tutorial section-satifaction of modding yourself cheap-FREE!

All you need is software :)

But ebay does give cheaper psp's overall-just be careful as some, while hacked, have damaged disc bays-meaning you can't buy the real games and use them-only downloaded ones.

Folding-what do you mean-I've learnt alot about psp and I never heard such a term in my life ???

Ah I see-I'm hopeless with slang and short cuts-thankfully forums here have the same opinion XD

Anyway, the quickest and easiest to do it is to buy (if yourself) a pandora battery-buy a premade one as it's safer.

My software guide is the cheapest way-and can determin (if you have a psp 2000) wether or not it can be permanently hacked.

Also-Do try ebay-the psp's there are way cheaper than on shelves-already done in most cases-just ask before you bid and set your self a limit :)

Well there is a program-once you got "chickHEN" going (it makes the psp think it's hacked-enough to run a custom firmware update in) you use "pspident.04" to check.

But there is no need-the main program that does the work-hell cat's recovery flasher 1.60 will auto detect what the mother board is-if incompatible with it check the last post in that tutorial.

..as for the "model" it's self (mother board more important, but you asked..) 1000 is big and clunky-but cheaper-2000 is lighter and 3000 is lighter still-and is brighter.

Can you use ebay-it seems a bit much in my guide-but if you try ebay you can save time (doing it yourself0 and money (if you win a cheap bid on a prehacked psp-as long as you aim for 2000 in ebay you should be fine).

Also, the model is in the model number on the PSP itself. Like my PSP says PSP 1001 (and a bunch more numbers) on the bottom tag where the model number and serial number are.

If that's still there-second hand one'smay have them rubbed off-had to rely on eb games employee to tell me...felt so lame-wish I had ebay earlier :(

You'll want to check it for the TA088v3 motherboard first. Since that one cannot be hacked using a pandora battery.

MDS64's guide in the tutorial section shows you how to do it.

As a matter of interest Tirrith, what is the strange letters/symbols in mds64s guide--- funny a's and euro signs and TM all over the place. Its hard to digest the information and try to figure out what the proper letters should be.

seems to be an issue with the apostrophe and indent/bullets. If you read carefully you can see what the words are.

I cant understand the stuff about "chickhen".Can I not just take a chance that I havent got that type of mboard,or will that ruin the PSP.

ChickHEN is the name of the program exploit that runs on the PSP.

As far as I know,Ill be using a Pandora battery(a modified fat one to go into the psp slim) and I wont be loading homebrew games, just simple kids games since my son is disabled.

Im wanting to use this tutorial https://www.romulation.org/forum/index.php?topic=8507.0.I think I can manage it,as long as I can use my old fat battery, but I do have a unused slim battery if need be.

Will I do any damage if I do have that particular Mboard and proceed with the flashing.

I think the psp has one of em motherboards that cant be done.It has the letter G on the outside of the box LOL.Anyway, even them guides for making a Pandora battery are crap,as a fat and a slim battery inner workings look nothing like they do in the videos. You would think them muppets would realise they are confusing people.

Um..I was wondering that myself-those weren't there last time...I will edit now thank XD

Just letting you know-even if the 2000 can't be hacked-you can try "cfw enabler".

Once hen is working it enables features only the true CFW's have-such as ISO play.

    Even a 3000 can do it :)

Btw-the program "hellcat's recovery flasher 1.60" can auto detect if it can or can't be hacked-apparently it would warn you before doing so-Best read the note's that are packed with it.

If in doubt-use HEN to get started-and use "pspident 0.4" as instructed in my guide :)

OK MDS,dont get me wrong, its a very good guide, its just I dont understand some of it.Firstly,it says its for doing it without Pandoras battery. Then it branches out to different systems and intermingles with software. Also separate lines for each action is easier to understand.

    cheers
