PSP Questions

Discussion in 'Sony' started by domonicseviltwin, May 25, 2007.

  1. First of all, if there is some psp help thread that I have missed that has the info Im after,
sorry mods! please delete this and give me a push in the right direction.

I am thinking of getting myself a psp for when I go to uni soon,
Not mainly for psp games but for psx isos, n64 gba and snes roms...
rather than bring all my favourite consoles into my dorm room (impossible anyway as theres no tv
and there probably not allowed) it would be much nicer to have my games in my pocket, so...
Before I buy one I need to know:

    - Can it play psx iso's? how?
    - n64 roms? how?
    - Gba? how?
    - snes? how?
    - What is the best firmware?
    - Anything else I need to know.

By "how?" I basically mean how easy is it, hows the compatibility, what software do I need etc
I am a total noob btw.

    Thanks! ;D

PSP can play PSX games, and technology wise are capable of playing GBA and SNES roms; however I do not know if there are emulators available to play these systems on the PSP. N64 is a different question; the N64 was considerably more powerful than the PSX, so the question is if the PSP has the sufficient power to run N64 games at a playable speed, while taking into account the extra overheads incurred by the emulation.

Ofcourse you can, mate....however.....with the n64 games I have succeded in beeing able to play them in my psp, however with backward and system problems, because since the 64 is more powerful from the specs of the psp.....you get lag and slowness......but for the rest such as nds snes, gen, and even gba or any other low end system, you can play it on your psp.......

Note that you do need to have a special kind of software that allows you to play all this games on there....any hombrew firmware version of 3.00 and above will do all that you want.......

go to these website, this is prob by far the best websites Ive seen that give you help and allows you to download the right files for free without any problems.....
