I have a couple of questions regarding PSP modding, and I only want people chipping in that DO know their arse from there elbow. This refers to the PSP200x slim models only. Is the only PSP's that create Pandora through the vsh menu the ones with ta-085 mboard. All others cant? I tried to run pspident on an unmodded PSP,and it didnt work.Has something else got to be loaded before that to display type of mboard? I did mod a few but I was using the "ok up to 8c" method......
http://dl.qj.net/psp/homebrew-applications/chickhen-mod.html You need ChickHEN to run any sort of homebrew application on OFW.
OK Ace,I thought as much. Now,can you explain WTF the guy means in lines 3/4/5 of his guide. The chickHen stuff is in a zip format, and if I extract it to my desktop,I get a folder called picture and a .bin file named H. 1. Power on the PSP 2. Connect to the PC via USB. Our OS should tell us it has been connected. ________________________________________________________________________________ 3. Open the folder of the PSP and copy the download (see below) there (in the root of the MS) 4. Decompress ChickHEN Mod.zip. Answwer "Yes" to all replacements. 5. Now we do a safe extraction of the PSP and switch to PSP now (now tranquility please ) _________________________________________________________________________________ 6. Press O to cancel USB connection 7. Go to Photos, down to Memory Stick and press X 8. Wait for the egg image to load in the ChickHEN Mod square. 9. When it's loaded press X (no need for timing here) 10. DO NOTHING MORE, JUST WAIT
Open the PSP on your PC. Extract the files from ChickHEN Mod.zip to the root of the memory stick. Answer YES if you are asked to overwrite any files. Click on the "Remove safely" Icon on your PSP to disconnect the PSP.
Just put the .bin file to the root of your memory stick, e.g H:/ and the rest to your PHOTO, or PICTURE folder. If not, your PSP will only get black screen, and shut down by itself during the process.
OK thanks guys-I was getting confused as things are getting lost in translation. Another thing Ive found is when I try to upgrade from VSH to Ultimate VSH menu.Ive installed a type of menu that shows all the options apart from "change colour" of vsh menu. Also,if I click on "create Pandora" nothing happens,so that is a problem also. I tried to install "total noobs" one,but there is a recovery folder that doesnt get mentioned, and his instructions when followed doesnt create anything in the seplugins side of things.
The plugin should just go into the seplugins folder and you edit the text file in there to add the plugin.
It wasnt as easy as that Ace.I read a few guides etc and none are accurate. One said to stick a file like vshmenu.prx into the seplugins folder and edit or create a vsh.text file. That would create a plugin in the recovery menu which I could enable=nothing there.Another said nothing about a recovery folder, which I think had a file like vshmenucolour.prx. The one I have installed went straight into the root of the PSP,and it appeared in the game section of the card. You run it,press the x button and it installs but no option for menu colour change or working for create Pandora. http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/1824
