hi i just bought myself a psp 2000 (slim) for Christmas, it is modded, and i have only a 2 gig memory stick in it.

i was just wondering if the firmware was on the memory stick or on the psp because i dont have enough space for my games, and i was thinking of getting an eight gig one.

    thanks :D

PSP firmware is stored inside the PSP, not on the memory stick, so you can get a new memory stick without any issues.

I'd sugget an 8GB if you want something decent, otherwise a 4gb just for 4/5 games you like depending on size, all that can't fit store them on your pc or (as I do) on an external drive for future use.

Actually it depends, if you have a Pandora battery inserted you'll NEED to have the memory card you use to install CFW into your PSP inserted as well. Meaning that if the Pandora Battery is still inside the actual console, hi116 will have to turn it on using his 2Gb then switch to his 8Gb at the menu. :)

Once you use the Pandora Battery and the "Magic Memory Stick" you don't need either. The Pandora Battery is just used to boot the PSP into the Recovery Mode, and the Memory Stick is just used to install the CFW.

Assuming that he is actually playing with his 2GB and not installing CFW, he doesn't need the Magic Memory Stick or the Pandora Battery, and can use which ever memory stick he wants on his PSP.
