I just bought a psp slim from china and got it modded there. It is running on a 4.01 M33-2 system. However, the psp lags for every game that i play and it really is irritating. It lags at intervals, almost timed. Am I alone? What can be done to stop the lagging?

  2. mod to topic, repeat, mod to topic...
    move to sony section?

I personally have no idea why it'd lag at timed intervals, hope someone else here knows me

Here may be some of the problems
    1. you got it china. 99% of electronics bought there are fake or crappy
    2.Is it psp-1000,psp-2000 or psp-3000?
    3. If it is psp-1000 change your processor speed to 333Ghz
4.Are you using .cso because many games lag when compressed to .cso
5.What memory stick are you using?16gig have some lag time and any memory card that is not sandisk or sony will have this issue.
    6. As a last resort you can reformat your memory stick this helps some times

My money is on 5 or 1 but those other fixes may work as well.

So thats what caused the fire in the London children's hospital. They said it was a gas canister exploding.

  7. don't you guys know god invented the psp :p
It's how he controls everything, like sims XD

Its most probably either you're playing PSP games in CSO format, or you're memory stick is a cheaper 3rd party stick with a slower read/write speed, or quite possibly a combination of both.

First make sure you are using a genuine Sony Pro Duo memory stick, then make sure that you have a PSP game in ISO format, not CSO, then try to play. If it continues to lag then try changing your speed to 333mhz (press select to bring up the vsh menu and change it from there). If it still lags after that then I doubt its a genuine sony PSP and youve probably been scammed.

It is not a problem with the stick as i tried it on my friend's psp which is not from china and it did not lag at all. The psp is geniune with warranty and all. Could it be that the update to 4.01 M33-2 was not done properly? The games are all in iso

PSP could still contain inferior components.

I highly doubt that it was the update, unfortunately I think, as loony said, that youve purchased a dodgy PSP.
