Hello everyone. I have a few questions. I borrowed a PSP from my friend, he got his PSP 2-3 years ago. I was wondering how you can play PSP ISOs on the PSP. His System Software just says 2.81 and nothing else. Some Youtube Videos show their PSPs with a M# after their Version. What does that mean?

So basically the question is: How can one play PSP ISOs on the PSP? What are the software requirements? Will my friend need to purchase anything? (Like an R4 DS related device?) Or will he just need to update/downgrade his firmware? He just wants to play PSP ISOs.

    Could someone help? Thank You

I don't have a psp but I have heard my friends talk about it.
For psp it's all about the firmware so you don't need an r4 like device.
Depending on your psp version there are many ways to downgrade a psp.
One of the most popular way is using a Pandora battery which you can Google tutorials and may be helpful to you.

basically. you need to downgrade your firmware to 1.5 then back up to whatever custom firmware you like.
the 2.81 is sony's firmware and the m## are custom firmwares.
once you have custom firmware on your psp you can then use a program to convert your psp.iso to run from the memory stick.

How do you downgrade it to 1.5 from 2.81, the only downgrade tutorials I've found were for PSPs with Version 3.03 or higher?
