Ok so I want to get into the homebrew and video game scene of the PSP so I will be buying a PSP really soon. Is there anything else I need besides

    PSP refurbished $130
4 gig pro duo sandisk memory stick $35
    usb to psp cable $5
    datel battery tool $20

would there be anything else I need or is this everything I need. I wanna play some portable FF VII and GT 2. I found a guide for the pandora battery/magic memory stick so I'm good there.

There is a really good ISO/CSO website that I get most of my games from... I'll send it to you in PM.

or, when you get back online....

You will need to get another thing. Go out and buy yourself a 256mb Memory Stick Pro Duo.

It must be a pro duo, otherwise you won't be able to make a magic memory stick. You won't be able to use your 4GB stick, as it will only support up to 2GB maximum.

It should be cheap though, a 256MB stick should be 10 dollars or less. (Don't hold me to that, I'm from the UK, so I don't know how the memory stick prices are over there.)

It would probably be easier and safer if you bought the set consisting of the memory duo and pandora battery. Though it will cost you more.

    pandora's battery costs only $10.
and yes, you need another memory stick (64 MB or greater) to make a magic memory stick.

also, here is my in depth tutorial on PSP downgrading using Pandora's Battery and the Magic Memory Stick.

and yes, it is still in general discussion.
