any know what the firmware is for downloading game for the psp handheld and do you need a special chip like the ndsi uses r4i or do you just need to put the firmware to the meory stick.if someone has any idea i would love to hear them thank you.nick
Nope. You need to flash your PSP with Custom Firmware. I don't know as much as others, but I do know how to do it properly...I've bricked a few PSPs, but they were easily fixable. You just need to be careful. What PSP model do you have?
Re: psp handheld The firmware for playing/using freely downloaded games homebrew and iso's is called cfw. Unfortunatly it's not as easy as using a ds flash cart, you have to flash the console it's self, sure you place the firmware onto the memory stick but it get's booted, removes the original firmware (OFW) and if done right let's you play free games, if done wrong...you'll wreck your psp. There is a soft hack (not a system flash) that is safe, but fustrating to use since it requires a certain ofw (5.03) to work, and it doesn't always start even if it's a refreshed system. Also it depends on what psp you have, the 1000 (phat) 2000 (slim) are ok (though the slims are like landmines...they can be wrecked if it's like the 3000) can be perma flashed to stay hacked, the 3000 can only be temp hacked... And currently the GO can't be hacked yet. What model is your psp and it's firmware currently? They don't make chips for psp, the mod shops just flash the console simerlar to the 360.
Ok, I'm guessing a 2000 or 3000... Does it have a hoem button or a playstation logo? (if it's an older model 2000, you'd need a bit of skill, luck and taking directions to the letter to hack, but more rewarding than the temp hack)
The Special Edition Star Wars and the Daxter PSP Slims can be fully hacked, I did my friend's Daxter one before he left for a couple of months. Hmmm... It's a bit more involved than NDS flash carts which you pop in the NDS.
They only have a basic homebrew loader going so far...very basic...it might even stop because the guy who released the exploit was trying to steal credit
Get a pandora. They're only like $6 on DealExtreme. Though i have no money to buy one... <.< Spoiler I already have one. I mean for my friend.
there is a risk that you will brick a PSP if you don't flash it properly Post Merge: [time]1270180856[/time] SUCKA' you're right...now CLEAN MA DAWG XD
