PSP 2003 GenD-3 The Simpson game mini-disc and downloaded ISO does not work on my sons PSP.Anyone know whats wrong. Im thinking its the GenD-3 that is the culprit as it used to play OK on both forms with M33 and the other Gens..... EDIT Ive switched the driver to M33 and the ISO works, but the Mini-disc still doesnt
Hey Mirror! How are you? Is the game older or is it fairly recent. Newer games will not work on GEN or any other firmware yet until there is another update. Also, are you using GEN-D3 "Final Build"? The original GEN-D3 had some glitches in it and they fixed them in the "Final Build" Get it here.
Hello Ace,Ive been gambling solidly for the last 3 weeks,so Ive not had much time to surf the net,and my router was disconnecting every 15 mins. The game is old and I cant remember which firmware I put on-if the GenD3-2 has been out for a couple of months,I think I may have put that on. Cheers
So the UMD version fails to work yet the iso does? What is the condition of the disc? Like in a few games I bought, the originals fail to work because of the damage, yet their copies work. Also, do any other UMD games work (UMD-mini disc)? Dumb question...but it's still in that casing shell right-it won't work without that thing that say's "UMD" on it XD
The disc looks OK and other discs play OK.Its certainly a strange one,but at least he can play the ISO version. That particular Game is in a aftermarket shell....
...hrm...if it's the one I seen, can it be opened for a quick look? Look for ANYTHING that looks like damage, those things are super sensitive to damage. And what exactly is happeneing when you attempt to use the disc, any error codes being shown or just not registering on the psp? (I should have asked earlier)
They can open,as youve got to get the disc in after you buy it. The disc plays the checking memory screen thing-so it starts but then the screen goes black. The orange light beside the d-pad doesnt flash either. Its certainly got me puzzled
Hrm... Try without the memory stick for a moment, seems weird but it's worth a shot. (so it get's to the checking memory screen, but no further, odd)
Yeah, its a blue cartoon page with white writing-part of the game. I'll try a few things later-as I dont want to corrupt the gpsp again. He can play the ISO so its basically OK....
But it could be an issue with the plugin settings. Try try running the game without the memory stick inserted, if it works fine like that then it's a plugin that's the issue. Why work with something partially broken I say when you can have it perfect
I dont think theres any plugins in the folder-Ive never added them. Is there ones I should get for future reference...
There is a plugin folder, that is how the ps1 games work, should be SE plugins... I find it easier to ether 1.Disable all plugins other than popsloader related 2.Remove the memory stick completly It won't hurt, all the data is saved on the stick, playing a game without a stick just means it can't save, it's surly worth a try, I fixed a few troubles doing this. If it can work without the memory stick, then we have a starting point.
