PSP FIRMWARE

    I'am just wondering what is psp firmware and what in earth does it do thanks

    Think of a firmware update as a version update, with each new firmware upgrade the software the psp uses either gets better or worse depending on what sony is doing. (better or worse depending on how you look at it really)

    for example forgot what update it was but lets say it was firmware 1.53 (hypothetically) this firmware allowed you to drag and drop homebrew games onto the psp. But then They made Firmware 1.54 ( again hypothetically), in which this firmware update made it so you couldn't play homebrews

    Also With the newer games the software needs to be updated so you can play them.

    the firmware is essentially the OS of the PSP
