I have a PSP fat model 1003 and it had a broken lcd. When I noticed it was broken,it still displayed graphics etc.Now I ordered a new screen from a british company for £25 and when I fitted it,no display at all.Has anyone else had this problem......

I would have tried to locate a "mod shop".

They do mod chip installs and system repairs-doing it yourself without experience can lead to troubles.

Unless you can locate one online where you can send it via mail-your best bet is to locate such a store-they are hidden out of the way...to protect themselves XD

Hiya MDS,Ive no proof the new screen they sent even worked. But I may have damaged the plastic strip thing that holds down the screen ribbon. If I cant get it to work,I could always post it to Australia LOL,everything else is OK

    One option-try the damaged screen.

If that works then it proves what's at fault :)

I binned the old screen a year ago.It was smashed like how a spiders web looks, but it worked and when I changed the screen,no display, but its powers up and the buttons click.Your right,a repair shop is best cos you make sure its working when you personally pick it up.Another way to find out is if I buy a new MB as I know how to unclip the screens ribbon now

Hrm, well I would have kept the old damaged screen as a dianostic tool.

When I wrecked my car's rear bumper, because parts of it were add ones we kept the old bumper just so we'd get an idea what to do-turns out despite the add on's being clipped on-the old bumper had them clipped on in an even fashion-but because of the shape of the add ons it looked even.

Obviously someone who owned the car before me did things differently but ended up with a result you would not notice on first glance.

In other words-when fixing something keep the broken remains just incase the new part plays up-unless it is deemed unsafe to put back on (and to make some sence used a different rear bumper to original-it looked the same but was different during install-but the old bumper helped give us an idea on how to get it and it's odd configuration onto the new one-life examples are very useful things :) )

Keep that in mind for next time-do it yourself repairs are gonna have times where you may need damaged goods to check if new parts are actually working or not.

Yep,imagine there were 5 faults, cost about £300 to fix LOL.

Missed out by £2 on a 1003 on Ebay, only had the pin missing out of where the charger plugs in.

    Seen your guide,looks better.Thanks again mate ;D
