Dissidia: Final Fantasy Genre: Fighting Developer: Square Enix Release Date:12/18/08 The gods are at war and our favorite Final Fantasy characters are caught in between. Chaos, the god of discord, is trying to take control of all the worlds with the help of the Final Fantasy villains and its up to Cosmos, the goddess of harmony, and the Final Fantasy heroes to stop them. The game lets you choose from 22 different characters, each with their own unique fighting stile. There are 2 characters from each Final Fantasy game, one hero and one villain from I to X, plus 2 hidden characters. Game Play 9/10 Dissidia lets you pit you favorite Final Fantasy characters in a 3D environment. Each character has their own unique fighting stile like Tidus the dodge attacker and Frion the weapons expert and their own unique EX modes that range from Cloud getting his ultima weapon to Onion Knight transforming to either a ninja or a mage. Characters can be equipped with several different weapons, armor, and summons to help them gain the edge over their opponent. As you fight with your way through the game characters they will eventually level up to gain and master different attacks and abilities. Story mode lets you embark on a quest with each of the Final Fantasy heroes on a chessboard like map filled with treasure and enemies. Each characters story is rated with stars ranging from one to five, five being the hardest. Graphics 10/10 WOW!! The graphics are just phenomenal and I’m not just talking about the opening intro. Like every other Final Fantasy game, the graphics are more than what we anticipated. The characters and stages are detailed, colorful and well drawn. This is one of the few games that are out that show what the PSP can really do. Sound 9/10 The voices and music are done magnificently. They castled the perfect people to mach each characters personality. The soundtrack is created from each of the Final Fantasy games along with some original music of its own. Although some of the remix did not work so well it doesn’t take away from the overall quality of the soundtrack. Multiplayer/Online 10/10 Playing multiplayer with your friend can last forever with this game. Not only do you get to solve the argument of Cloud Vs Sepheroth, but also you can record your fights and send them online for others to see. You will be spending a lot of time with your friends re-creating the epic battles between archenemies and also finally deciding once and for all which Final Fantasy character is the best. There is also an online option if you have a PS3 so you can beat not only your friends but also others around the world. Final Thoughts This game is only out in Jap right now so unless you can understand and/or read Jap then the story wont make much sense. The Eng version is not due out until mid 2009 which is a long wait for some, like me, so if you’re dyeing to try this game I urge you to get a copy. Don’t let the language bother you because after all this is a fighting game. The controls aren’t that hard to figure out and if you do need help on something or just need some advice you can always ask the nice people on the RomU forums. Check your total. Overall, nice review. I have it already, just need to somehow magically get my 3.90 M33-3 to 5.00. Ugh, back to this crap again...
nice review, have been waiting for this. Not too disappointed in ditching my PSP any more, doesnt quite look like my sort of FF game. But then again neither did Crisis Core and I couldnt get enough of that .
Actualy I have 3.50 and it still works. I dont see the reason for changing it unless a game dosnt work. And what do you mean by Check your total?? Im planning to add more to the review once I find out more about the game. I can only pick out certain words in the story mode so I dont know much on whats going on but once I do Ill revize it.
