Hello RomU. Been a while since I've posted anything, or used my psp for that matter but now I have a problem or two. Since it's been a year or two since I've touched my PSP my current CFW is 5.50 D3. I've looked around and tried to install 6.60 Pro or whatever it's called but it won't allow me to jump from one to the other, I think this may be because I need the latest OFW but I'm not 100%. I'm on a PSP 1000 and as I mentioned I'm on 5.50 D3. Any help at all would be appreciated, and I would definitely love it if someone could talk me through it in simply terms :)

update to the latest ofw (6.60) then install the cfw onto your psp, you can then you can run CIPL Flasher to make it permanent

Thanks, but I was also wondering how to get from 5.50 D3 to OFW, simply opting to update via the PSP won't work, I know there are a few tools here and there I just wanted to know the name of a simply easy one :)

I don't see why you would want to update to 6.60 when 5.50 D3 does everything that 6.60 does.

If you want to run the games that 6.60 runs normally, then just get 5.50 Prometheus v4.
Anything past 5.50 is really only for PSPs that can't be permanently hacked.
Even if it is permanent, I still don't see the appeal of running 6.60 over 5.50 especially when there's nothing lacking from 5.50 P4.

And why you would want to go to OFW first is beyond me...that's a sure way to get yourself stuck on OFW, never returning to CFW ever again. Tutorials are great and all, and they should go as planned, but I've had enough of Murphy's Law to know that just because a tutorial says it will work, doesn't mean that it will definitely work.

you need to go to ofw to install cfw 6.60

newer cfw's are signed with the leaked key so they run on any psp

As well as having the possibility of never returning to CFW in the event that it doesn't work.

Did you not read the rest of my post?
