hi people I got a real problem here it is: I upgraded my psp to 5.50 d-gen 3 and it was perfect but when I tried to upgrade my friends psp ,when I tried to open the cfw update program it said corrupted data something something.but programs logo is normal its not corrupted data logo.and there is no problem with the memory stick. I really want to help him out what should I do? if there is info I can give you else please tell uh and I want to upgrade to 5.50 because my friend cant play isoz on his psp everything is normal I mean the files is the memory stick .I put the games in ISO file but when I open psp i look and wtf they are not there!?
Re: psp cfw 5.50 d-gen3 - I cant update my friends psp Make sure that you put the 550.PBP file on the root of the Memstick. What firmware are you running now? 5.00 M33-6? If so, then you need to upgrade like this. 5.50 GEN-A 5.50 GEN-B 5.50 GEN-B2 5.50 GEN-D 5.50 GEN-D2 5.50 GEN-D3 I did that to my friends' PSPs and they all work fine now with GEN-D3. The UPGRADE or other folder goes into the PSP/GAME folder. Not the ISO folder.

You don't have to upgrade like that, but it's safer. To check the firmware go all the way to the left, then settings, then System Information.
thank let me check ummm..hmmm ok! it says version 5.03...now what .actually my real purpose is not upgrading 5.50 .its to make my friends psp able to run iso games because it doenst as I mentioned at first reply
What PSP type is it? Check on the bottom. There's a serial there and will say like PSP 2000/3000/1000 etc...
