Ok, I made my psp go to OFW 6.20 JUST to redeem a store code (got gran turismo collector's edition brand new...got the 2 exclusive cars ) but am wondering...if it SAFE to go back to GEN with the change? There is a new file made from the download of the cars.."car key's file" or something...now the cars I used and are running well but...would swapping back to GEN affect anything? I couldn't be bothered to buy the bugatti Veyron so i used the code to get that and the corvette EDIT:THIS IS A PSP 2000 I'M RUNNING HERE!
Are you telling me you have GEN CFW installed on your PSP Go? I only knew of one CFW hack for the PSP Go, and that wasn't released until after Sony already fixed it, and the 6.20 OFW fixed it. How are you planning on going to GEN on your PSP Go?
It's amazing how you got the PSP Go on CFW. If you made a mistake, and it is a regular PSP, then you need to use a Pandora's Battery and MMS to downgrade to 5.00 OFW/M33, update to 5.03 OFW and run ChickHEN or MHUspeed, and use the 5.50 GEN-D3 installer software to flash install 5.50 GEN-D3. 5.50 GEN-D3 should allow the use of PSN through the MediaGo software anyways. ...wtf. Just because I have 6.20 doesn't mean I have a GO XD It's a psp 2000! The problem isn't going back since I have a pandora, it's just the car data in gran turismo psp which I redeemed would be affected as it also left some data in my memory stick rather than just alter the save data. (A friend reckons he can hack a go but with direct programming and from what I assume...altering the console himself, he has yet to show me but he prefers not to get into the spot light...that and from what else he's shown me it's possible but...not an easy task). *And when did I say I had a psp GO, if there is 2 things I always say is I hate r4's AND the psp go... I had to update to access the psn store, 5.50 nor 5.55 wouldn't let me go there.
You said it was a GO, not us If your PSP 2000 is one that is hackable with the Pandora Battery, then it will work regardless of the OFW on it. 3.0, 5.0, 6.2, any.
Ok...again mis-read me... It's NOT the firmware revert, just wether or not the sav data will be affected, because I recieved some data from the psn store. I got those 2 bonus cars from the psn store. Will they be ok, because after I was done it left a key's file in my memory stick. I will post a screen shot of it...tommoro. I think GEN D3 lets them run, not sure about it (and you don't need to go onto 6.20 OFW to get onto the PSN store, just use Media Go from GEN D3)
dean... That is what I said and it was wrong... And the saves will be fine. I updated my PSP to 6.20 to use PSN store, downloaded games, and downgraded back to GEN. All my saves were intact, and I did not back them up. For example, the God of War full game(I know it's old) and the MGSPW demo saves worked fine. Don't ask me how I bought God of War. ;D It was just a pain to get them working on GEN-D3... I had to disable all my plugins, and reset my CPU clocks, remove my IPL, and etc. It still would have been quicker to use the MediaGo sotware instead of upgrading to 6.20, just to use the PSN store.
I normally do backup...just wondering because for obvious reasons CFW is blocked on the psn, wondering if some of the promotions might be as well. Tonight I'll revert back and let you all know how it went.
After reverting, you don't need to go back to 6.20 even if you want to use PSN store. I will tell you one more time, just to make sure you heard, just use the Media Go software. It works for me on GEN.
...Not if the download refuses to go again... Possibly one time download...not taking into account if one's psp has some issues, card corruption, etc.
Maybe, reformat the card... reset the flash1... IDK. Getting REALLY CONFUSED. Hardest problem I had to solve with any PSP...
I just used CW cheat... It seems to be a common issue-and unless there is a support email for euro/australian user's I haven't much hope.
