Publisher: Disney Interactive Studios, Touchstone Developer: Propaganda Games Published: February 05, 2008 Category: Action, Shooter, First-Person Players: 1-16 Touchstone, a branch of Disney were ones who published the game. This new game is the first in franchise in 6 years. Movies like Jurassic Park have aspects of the time-traveling, but in its stead is a science-fiction story that involves a distant ship that crashes into a world of aliens. Game includes of interesting plot twists and nasty dialogues. Aside the senseless action. Presentation - 7.5/10 You play as Joseph Turok, an American solider who is trained to hunt a rogue military company of which he once used to be a member of. Turok freely imitates from many resources, the plot feels much like ones from Jurassic Park. There's also not to the game in the storyline. Ship crashes on a planet, Go find the mystery voice that's pretty straightforward and out of fashion. Turok could have made an interesting plot but failed to do so. The story line is of 10 full hours of playtime more than any FPS. Graphics - 8/10 The visual designs of character and vehicles feels to be taken from Gears of War. The environment is confusing and camouflaged. The visuals are powered by the Unreal engine, gives that they are not sharp or crisp as in other Unreal-engine games. Granted, there are some great animations, particularly when a dinosaur is dying on the ground twitching in pain. The PS3 version looks nice in graphical lighting and shading, though X360 game suffers. However, they both are quiet identical. Gameplay - 9/10 The only thing in the game is fighting dino's. You encounter many varied species of dinosaurs such as quick raptors, docile and our favorite T-rex. You have rare selection of your firearms in the game. The game includes many cinematic action, move or thrust down buttons continuously. It's so well done that it's a bit unsettling fighting with your knifes. The gets frustrating when fighting waves of dinosaurs. For example, you are attacked by dinosaurs the first wave is going to be itself hard and in no time minutes another wave attacks. This process of frustrating fights goes on, and further the checkpoints for saving are not much so, you would have to replay from the start. The human hostiles is quiet easy in contrast to the dinosaurs. Sound - 9/10 The sound is somewhat perfect with great voice acting and some nasty dialogues make it a little cheesy. The sound effects are sure no trites with excellent sound of footsteps and the cries of dinosaurs. Replayability - 7/10 Depends on the gamers. But, I would prefer it. Misc [for extra info.] There's support for up to four players in co-op in multiplayer, and the action is a lot more intense than in regular single-player because the number of enemies and dinosaurs have been increased to extreme. The downside is that it's difficult to find an available game at times online, even in the evenings. The multiplayer very difficult to handle in many occasions. Overall Rating - 40.5/50 Full description Turok is an epic, story-driven FPS game set on a dark, mysterious planet in the near future.
