i've been thinking of buying a PS3 since i have a few friends that play demon souls and i've been intrested on playing the game, but i need to ask, if i use the method that makes the iso look like an orginal game sold by sony or a retailer, can i connect to the PS3 network or i would be kicked?
maybe but the ps3 ORIGINAL games are fucking expensive on my country, just to compare, the most expensive wii game is at 400 bucks and the cheapest is around 100 bucks, a PS3 game moves between the 300 bucks to the 1.000 bucks, a burned PS3 is sold to me only for 50 bucks, the price 15 bucks more expensive than a blue ray movie, hence why i am asking. @Athemoe i dont have a PS3 i want to buy one and there are some decent offers like the ones that sell me a PS3 + 5 games of my choice and it's a non slim the one i want but i need to know if i mod it will i be kicked or i can still go on to the PS3 network, since EVERY PS3 sold on my country is now pre moded.
for that i need to pay euros, and i am not an expert on using amazon, mercadolibre, etc. aside i lack the credit card needed for doing so and finally the goverment gives around 400$ per year with how a ps3 game is at 40$-60$ it would be way to expensive, plus i dont trust any place that holds packages, there have been cases of stolen goods, hence i want as little risk as possible, i need to know if it happens like with the wii, if i connect to the PS3 network with a signed PS3 game will or i will not get kicked out, that is all and will be what determines if for me birthday is ask that or a PSP (Posibility of emulating psx games, due that my psx is dead)
you will not be able to buy a PS3 that can be modded to play pirate games. Pirating games requires an old firmware, which in itself will prevent you connecting to PSN.
Loonylion remember the PS3 keys are out? there is an app that sings the iso of the games and makes them look like original, plus if you come to my country every home console but the N64 and the NES and SNES are modded, they are sold pre moded.
odd what i remember having read is that they would need to restrucuture the whole system and hardware due to the keys being an integral part of the system. gamegrep article original source
First, the PS3 does not read disc back ups. It can read ISO's through the multiman tool (pretty sure it has the best compatibility), but that's it. Anybody that tells you the PS3 can read disc back ups needs to go leap off a bridge for being dumb. CFW is only for 3.55 and earlier, and no, you can no longer access the PSN with it. All the PSN exploits were promptly blocked, and there was more than one account (actually, I believe it was a system ban) banned when this stuff started getting really popular. You basically have to realize that if you want to pirate for your PS3, it is going to be a one player experience. Demon's Souls also isn't a game that you can just kind of play with your friends. There are stat and level limitations, and neither of you can directly interact with each other within the game. You just have to lay down a soul sigil and hope that your friend is able to see it, and is further able to summon you to their world (or vice versa). Having bought it awhile ago (Greatest Hits, $20 USD), I can tell you that if your friends have already been playing with a certain character for awhile, there will be no way for you to just jump in and play with them unless they go out of their way to create a new character. By the way, those master keys aren't that fantastic. They've proved useful on the PSP, but the PS3 is a far more complicated beast that Sony have really gone out of their way to protect. They have managed to block every exploit to date, and CFW hasn't been moving much the past couple of months.
Nathan, backups are being sold in my country and can be read by a PS3, when i go to the university i will ask the guys who sell them how is that they magnaged to make the PS3 read backups. I see so it's different to how MH3 works. and for what i've read there are some teams that are working on a CFW for the latest update, but since it's quite complicated and technical talk i decided to not go too deep.
Yeah, creating CFW is not easy. I've also never heard of the PS3 being able to read disc back ups, ever, and I've read fairly deeply into the scene since hacking the PS3 became the big thing.
We venezuelans are smart people, the guys i know sell backups i will post more info on how they did it so, if a PS3 can read backups AND connect to the PS3 network i will be satisifed, since there is a chance some one in my country came up with a chipping system, since i remember some places offering to put a hardware chip onto the PS3 for it to read backups, but since i had no intrest on the PS3 i did not care, for example there are people who chip PSP's including the 3000 ones.
there was jailbreaking hardware available for earlier firmware versions. They no longer work on the 3.6x series firmwares.
There is something very fishy about that. Nobody chips PSP's, as it is completely unnecessary. You can burn disc back ups of PS3 games, but there are no documented ways of playing them. Last I checked, there were no legit mod chips for the PS3 either. I would watch what you spend your money on, as it sounds like you are getting ready to screw yourself pretty hard. With CFW, you will not have access to PSN. At this point in time, there is no way to bypass it.
again i am not sure how it works ON my side of the screen, keep in mind people will not always share their discoveries. They put chips on PSP's in order to play burned PSP games, i know a few people that opt to go that way rather than CFWing their psp's. It's a similar principle to that of the wii, my wii is chipped but i have also virutal stuff set up, plus there arent any non modded console even if i found a sega genesis it would be modded so it can run pirated game, a dreamcast, etc., my father has a modded dreamcast, so in venezuela everything is modded but the DS, those are sold with R4i3DS.
Few models of the Dreamcast need modifications to run burned games. Wii chips are well known. There are no known ways to burn and run UMD games on a PSP, and the only mod chips available for the PSP just let it do what CFW lets you do anyways for far less work and cash. Sounds like wherever you are is gullible central when it comes to piracy. Nobody has a clue about how anything works, so everybody gets ripped off. Common sense prevails. If you can not find it anywhere online from a reliable source, it does not exist. The scenes for everything exist entirely online, and pioneers of technology make themselves known. Or does nobody who mods things in Venezuela have an internet connection? There is nothing spectacular and special in Venezuela that is different to how piracy happens in the rest of the world.
will you believe if i take pics of the cases of PSP games and of the discs? since i will be going there this friday i can do that. second people in venezuela usually go around experimenting, but you need to find good places to send your things to be chipped/modded, and sadly a part of the culture is not so much about sharing but about keeping shut up about what you know, so i wouldnt be surprised if there are a few guys out here that figured things other people dont and since we tend to be greedy we dont often share the knowledge.
