PS3 problem

    Im not sure if this is the right part of the forum but i need help.
    my ps3 turns on but it wont let me pick an account. it stays at the black and smoky-type graphic. the smoky thing moves like normal and when i put in a game it shows the loading graphic at the top right. it wont let me do anything apart from connect the controller and put in a game that it wont let me play ~.~ help....

    is the hard disk light flashing? You can also try a factory reset. When you turn it on (with no disc in), continue to hold the power button until it beeps again and the power light flashes.
