As you know ,soo many things about Ps3 happened lately. Activision threated Sony ,Ps2 sold more than Ps3 ,MW2 announced an exclusive DLC for XboX and more...

We heard about price cut ,and also Ps3 Slim. Today ,we learned both of them are %70 coming true.

First of all ,Sony announced they lowered the produce cost of Ps3. It was 800$ ,then 400$ and now its probably around 250$. And about a week ago ,Sony's CEO told they MAY drop the price at the end of this month.

    And now this:

It is a bad joke ,or Sony really started to think properly. My guess is ,before Halloween ,we are gonna get a juicy price cut!

    (sorry for bad grammer)

they have moved the cell production process to a smaller die size, reducing the production costs. Hence they are able to reduce the retail price of the console.

wished they kept ps2 emulation on the newer models though...

Well of course theres gonna be another price cut... how else will they sell PS3s? Maybe when it reaches... $10 I might get my own, till then whenever I wanna play a freezy piece of crap I'll go to my cousins place.
(albeit, if they do the same thing with the slim ps3 as they did with the slim ps2 they MIGHT just save themselves...)

    Yep.
Ever wondered why the PS2 sold more consoles in a smaller market? cos it was good, the PS3... not so much.

You know why PS3s do not sell like the PS2 and the PS1? It ain't pirate-able!

That's basically why PS1s and PS2s were selling like hotcakes in the first place. Truth.

PS3 hasn't been selling too good because it had a crap launch and costed a lot more than any other console. Also the E3 press conference made it look like a douche bag.

ALSO there's like, no marketing, and when there is, it SUCKS.

It's been going around for a few months in the US about a price drop on the ps3 and making a "slim" version is nothing new they been doing that since PSX.

don't matter the price, just waiting the ps3 mod chip so it can run a copy disc.

    Won't happen.

Do you happen to own a BluRay burner?

yup, but not mine, it's a lend equipment from my boss, i got Sony's BWU-200S Blu-ray burner.

So guess they will be no mod chip for ps3 then. :-[

Think about it, do you have a BluRay Burner? They don't even sell them, they don't even sell BluRay dics.

A lot of the games on the PS3 can't fit on a DVD.

If you put them on your PS3 Hard drive then it's going to be empty quickly.

Ps3 mod chip is possible ,but it will cost more than original.

You have to download 40GB+ files ,burn them to Bluray. And there is no guarantee it'll work. You may break your Ps3.

So ,if you cant afford games ,buy a wii or 360 I think.

Instead of downloading, how about ripping?
You can rent a game for a day, rip it, then return it.

Anyway, the only way I'm getting use out of my PS3 is if they release a hack and if I can get my hands on a really big HDD, or blu ray burner.

Until then, I'll be playing my ever expanding library of somewhat enjoyable Wii games.

Sony just needs better games, especially at launch. Nintendo has Mario and Link and whoever else, Microsoft has Master Chief (whoever else, I don't know much about Xbox stuff) and we get stuck with unfamiliar launch games for the PS3. If they made FFXIII a launch title, I bet you they would have gotten a lot more sales.

this is a great comment and a great moment to tell you there is a reason why the ps2 sold more then the ps3. it was for the massive games of library for the ps2. what this also tells you is that people didn't really care about the graphical power of the ps3.

sony is in trouble. they have blu ray but they have media streaming features, it contradicts the reason for the blu ray. i don't know if sony is willing to reduce prices for the ps3. if they want to get more buyers, they'll not only have to reduce it to the cost of the xbox 360 [299.99 in us] or below, but also have good games to attract to the buyers.

everyone keeps talking about this slim ps3, but i don't see it happening any time soon. it is too early in it's life time for the ps3 to already have a slim version of itself being released. sony often does this later on in its' system life cycle.

if the ps3 slim is released, it's more likely that there won't be a price reduction.

sony is competing with microsoft and they are in trouble as microsoft has a really big pocket.

Sony isn't short of cash either, if you view the entire corporation as a whole.
