    Hey guys,
I was trying to play my movies from my external harddrive on my ps3 and in my Blood Plus folder it said that 30 of the avi's were "unsupported" and gave an error message of 800288BF and wouldn't play the files, however the rest of the series works fine and they are EXACTLY the same.

It also says that various other avi's can't play because they are "corrupted" or they're "unsupported"

And several of my folders appear empty on the ps3 but on the pc are fine.

do they all use the same codec? (use g-spot codec information appliance to check) Contrary to popular belief, .avi is not a codec, it is a container that contains audio and video that can be encoded using any one of several hundred codecs. Obviously, devices such as the PS3 only support a small subset of all the codecs avi files can use.

Hmm I'll check it, but they were all done by the same guy...

Maybe he just downloaded them all and claimed it was his own, I have had that happen before.

Apparently, avi's can work, but it must have divX encoding, as evident in my red vs blue movie files which I am enjoying as of now...shame the WMA files only half worked (wma, once enabled works on a ps3, but the audio in these differ and thus fail to play any sound).

Stupid ps3. All it's good for is Final Fantasy. =D

Not stupid, it's designed the way it is for a varitety of reasons...mostly for ease of use because "normal" people wouldn't use any of the weird formats.

And of course...in your case...maybe it's for quality reasons.
