Hello, since I got this new isp (TPG for anyone who nows) I had issues...

At first, I assumed it was the line, because both the ps3, laptop and anything else would loose all internet.

But now it's stable and enjoying unlimited downloads on my laptop and brother hasnt had an issue...but the ps3 is another story.

It'd cut out and sometimes say it's a dns issue despite everything else still being connected, now the guy who helped set it up suggested it might be a filter issue, and advised that was change the filters from our old adsl connection to the ones that came with out new adsl2+ modem router combo.

Also this happens randomly, in game or just idle at the system menu, so port forwarding aint much help.

A friend of mine still reckons it's the line but I not sure anymore, and i want to avoid spening money...so I ask the following.

1.Should I try manually entering the details to the ps3?

2.How do I find out the details via my router (I can find the stuff to the router settings and dxdiag if needed)?

    3.What else can I try?

I cant move the modem router (billion brand btw, it got good reviews) because it's wired to my mother's pc (and the old router worked fine...) and I cant try switching the filters..not yet, but I dont want to buy something else :(

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Doing it manually allows you many more options to ensure you have the best connection suited to your needs. Just search online for the best settings.

So how do I find out what ip adress to give my ps3 then?

Doing it automatically aint much help...

To be honest I just use automatic with it. Google might help you there I'm not really smart when it comes down to tech.
