Name: Vexx Platformes: Playstation 2, Xbox, Gamecube, Genre: Platformer Developed by: Acclaim Austin Studios Published by : Acclaim ________________________________________ When the PS2 was still young its future looked bright with great games such as Jak II Ratchet & clank: locked and loaded, Prince of persia:sands of time. Yet there where overlooked games out there such as Vexx by Acclaim. In this review I will talk about Vexx's flaws as well as its good points. Story: A long time ago the people of Astara "opened a door better left closed" and lost hell upon Astara. The shadow wraiths are what they relesed into there world the leader of them Dark yabu (Prounuced Y-A-B-U-E) ordered his minions to slay all of the Astarans and put the land in chaos yet they overlooked one place the quite village Overwood but when they decended upon there they enslaved them all. The villiage elder Varges and his grandson Vexx worked day and night intill Vexx's rage could no longer be sustained Vexx lashed out at dark yabu but he defened himself. Eager to set his grandson Vexx free Vargus threw a blunt object at him and then Yabu took his power on Vargas and showed no mercy! Later that night vexx snuck into Yabu's ship hoping to find treasure he found something else The Astani war talons and then his fate has changed. Gameplay: Vexx runs just like anyother platformer you run you jump you glide and collect objects and sometimes fight. The basic game takes place over 8 worlds in each world you must collect are wraith heart. You select one at the main HUB each heart has a riddle which you will try and solve however signs will point you too where it must be completed. (Example: Twixt and pitch but just remeber your goal. In this you will find a Football which you must kick intill you find a goal post.) In the main hub you will see 7 doors at the start of the game one will be open. Each door has a number on this is the amount of Hearts you must collect to open said door to world. The combat mechiniac is a 3 combo style you basicly will be button smashing but when you defeat enough enimies you will be able to unlock the true power in your talons for a short period. There are two power up suits the rock and the air you must find the token for each and use it at the pads. Musical Score: Vexx has a bland use of music but it does well enough for the game each level has a catchy tune but in the end it gets old quickly. Presentation: Vexx may have flaws but it got a beutiful background sometimes enimies are pixilated but its an old game so it can be forgiven the animations are sometimes klunky but then again when Vex's attacks it really looks like he means it. When vexx is standing still he will do those little animations one looks espically cool. Overrall verdict: The game is well done and does not deserve its critiscm because it makes it all up. The game was certianlly was overlooked and better then most platformers like Super mario 64 Jak and daxter and many more. But that still doesn't make much sense. What's a "jumo?" Then why such a low score?...especially with combat having a score of 4. Is a high score in Flaws supposed to be good or bad? I don't get it. Your basic scores (the ones before the extras) don't match the ones that you are supposed to have. And since Winterr basically told me to not list every damn spelling and grammar error, I'm just going to say that you have a lot.

I played this but didn't really enjoy it mate. The graphics I thought were terrible. Don't look as good as the screenshots. But cool review and I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Cool review, monter, it's nice to see you improved them (seriously, the other ones... blah. ). But this one's nice, keep it up. I tried this game out once, got bored after spending 15 minutes with it. Indeed, there's an European version of this game, I played it. But I didn't like it one bit.
