    Ok-pcsx2 plays rez fine.

Burnt via img burn-1x speed-sony CD (this is a cd game judging from the size and the fact that the site it originated from say's so-can't get dvd version as it's not megauploaded :( )

But the same cd fails on a real playstation 2-what gives ???

At first I thought I made a coaster...but it worked on my emulator, so what's the deal?

This game has been patched with paradox-from what I know it switches the game mode-from pal to nstc (can be set before game start)

After I select any mode-it shows a memory card warning-but flashes.

And if I try to move it would reset-I go to use and it would go back to no.

And yet the emulator thinks it's working.

    Sure a tad slow but it does work-played a whole level...at 20fps :(

What could it be-just burnt wrc2 and that worked.

EDIT:Just this morning I booted the same disc...it worked-I whipped out the memory cards and it works!

And now I can place them back in and play :)

But with the pal/nstc mode changes-can i use the same save from the pal with the nstc mode-the gamecube games in different regions don't work with one another-pal zelda won't work with nstc version :( prehaps the ps2 is the same-just asking.

I would say burn it to a DVD, not a CD.
Then, I would pad the ISO to fill the 4.7 GB disc.
The emulator works with it because it just thinks it's an image, but with the PS2, it actually reads what kind of disc it is. There are no PS2 games on a CD, only DVD so that would be problem #1. Second, I'm not sure if the PS2 supports trimmed games, so padding like I said should fix that.

    It's not trimmed-site say's cd format...

    Also-ridge racer 5 is a cd ps2 game (check the CD-I was surprised)-when ripped it's only 700MB

    This is only 200MB

...and I read a post by another user who tried to pad it an make it an iso.

It seems that the ps2 can't register it...

But...I may give that a shot-how do I do it and what programs do I need?

If anyone has any other ideas that would help-and thanks insanecrazy for jumping down here :)

There's a certain byte size that you have to meet. I know this because the Gamecube is ANAL on how big the image size is.

Pad it to the correct size and see how that goes.
