Just curious. Is there any ps2 games that have real-time in-game fur textures, like star fox adventures on the GC, or conker on the Xbox?
3 what? Sony home consoles? It's more powerful than the PSX. The original games may not have been as pretty as later ones, but the graphics engines that Insomniac and Naughty Dog used were different than what other game developing companies used. The PS2 has the capabilities for good graphics, but some companies didn't take advantage of that. Plus, it was some of the best graphics at the time, so don't bash it for having lower quality graphics before you think of back a few years ago.
Ah, no no. I mean between the PS2, Gamecube and Xbox. Technically speaking, ps2 was the weakest (and first), Xbox wasd a tad stronger and GC was the strongest except for storage.
Ah! I see what you mean now. Some GC games were actually not as detailed as the PS2 port. For instance, DragonBall Z Budokai. The PS2 version has excellent graphics, but the GC port has missing graphics on the characters, such as the muscle lines and details on Ginyu's face and body. The size of the discs were a fine line as well, but Nintendo did a good job on most of its games. And yes, XBOX did have better graphics than the PS2. I remember a review of Whiplash. The PS2 version had a lot of graphical issues, but the XBOX port was a little more well defined with the graphics, giving it a cleaner look to it overall.
I think the worst example of ps2 weakness is ps2 sonic heroes. It pretty much runs 30fps the entire game.
That's actually very good. The PS2 wasn't a bad system. I have 2 of them. One is busted and the other I need to replace the drive with the parts system.
