Re: modding a ps2 I don't think soft mods exist for the PS2 (I could be wrong though). You either hard mod it (with a mod chip) or use a boot disc. Kind of like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTvQLPwOGFg
ps2, you'd need a something called a swap disc, it boots code to the ps2 to allow copied games to work...but if it's a fat it may need a shell mode (which means the case needs to be swapped so you can open like the slims work). I'm no expert here, I paid good money for a modchip instead.
They exist. It's a program called Mcboot free edition. It boots from the Memory Card, but I didn't want to patch all of my burned games. But I suggest investing in some Swap Magic Discs and getting a fliptop lid or at the least a slide card. Consult this website for information on what your PS2 model is - http://www.ps2cover.com/ps2-modchip-model-number.shtml It doesn't matter if you want a slide card. Are you wanting to have a slide card or a fliptop? I have a fliptop personally and it's pretty easy to use. Is your PS2 PAL or NTSC?
its quite a tedious task and you will need the swapmagic anyways. I'd just personally get the discs and the top.
True, but SwapMagic does a much better job than HDD Loaders... And they work on the slim, but I believe this person does not have a slim, but a Phat PS2. And there are flip-tops for the slim as well as the phat.
