Since the music is playing, I assume it's got a mod chip?

    -WHat mod chip?
-What disc type are you using (dvd -, + or Rw -/+ )
-What program did you burn with?
    -What speed?

What type of disc are you using to copy the games? (DVD-R, DVD-RW)?
Do you have a modchip or a swap disc on your PS2?
What program are you using to burn the copies to disc?

The point is, the longer the legnth, and more messed up it looks, could mean...your disc is dead.

Okay, if any of the scratches are circles, you're screwed. If the scratches are long and wide, you're screwed. If they are short and thin, then that is okay. You can use Brasso to fix the scratches. If not, then your laser lens that reads the disc in the PS2 is messed up. You will need it repaired, or buy a cleaning disc.
