ps2 backup hack

i saw this ps2 hack on youtube where thay put a real ps2 or psx cd in to a ps2 and they slide a credit card under the cd tray and put the back up cd in, dos that real work?

 

That video sounds like it was made by this guy. This Household Hacker guy makes so many ludicrous videos. The dumbest of which are "Charging an iPod with an onion and electrolytes (Gatorade)" and "Making a Hi-Fi speaker out of a paper plate, a penny, foil, and some tape".

10 bucks that it's some dumb hoax.

Yes it works, by own experience, but you will find you have to reset your PS2 a few hundred times to get one game working; best to buy one, maybe one of those that plug in to a memory card Slot. That video wasn't made by Household Hacker, there's many people that made videod with the credit card hack.

 

i think i sow something before that was a memery card and you could boot backupa form it, but i forget what its called ???

 

will the hack still work if its a two disk game?

 

Yes, if you have a decent modchip etc. The card trick has been known to never work with multiple disc games.

It's a device which plugs into a Playstation 2's Memory Slot.

 

how do you use it to play back ups?

 

It allows you to play all region games, as well as backups, from being inside the Slot. You can also load and save memory saves on it etc.

 

so do you put the backups on the card or do you burn it to a cd?

 

CD/DVD obviously.

You could also try SwapMagic. It lets you play back-ups that have been burned to CD/DVD with a slight mod to the disk tray which is really easy to do. And you don't need a mod chip in your PS2.
