I downloaded Rugrats: Search for Reptar the other day.
Since it was in .mdf format, I opened it with PowerISO, and saved it as a .bin.
But when I try to load it with ePSXe, I just get a black screen.
    help?

don't convert files like that, it doesn't work. Mount the .mdf on a virtual CD drive (using daemon tools or similar) and either run from the virtual drive or use imgburn to make a copy in ISO format.

    It still doesn't work.
I mounted the .mdf and tried to play from there, it still froze.
And I made an .iso the way you said, and it still froze.

Has anyone else got this game to work?

What version of ePSXe are you using? 1.5.2, 1.6.0, or 1.7.0 (The three most common).

What are your Graphics and Sound Plugins and settings configured to?

    I'm using ePSXe 1.7.0

I'm using Delta to launch the emulator.

    I'm using Pete's OpenGL2 Driver v2.6
    Internal ePSXe SPU v1.5.2

The only config change I made was to make the emulator to open in a window instead of fullscreen.

I'm using BIOS 7502, if that would make any difference.

Try using BIOS scph 1001. Don't ask anyone for a link if you don't have it though. Google...

Get the SCPH1001 Bios like Oldboy said, and if that doesn't work try using Pete's DX6 D3D driver.

And I'd recommend upgrading to ePSXe SPU 1.7.0 (It's a very good sound plugin).

...have you checked the compatibility list just incase?

There still some games that may not work.

I tried everything you guys said, and it still isn't working.

On a semi-related note, does the swap trick work on SPH-5501?

I've heard yes and no other places.

I don't have the extra $25 for a modchip right now, so..

    Ok.

I downloaded it, and it's working just fine on my emulator.

    ePSXe 1.7.0

    Graphics Plugin = Pete's OpenGL2 Driver 2.9
Special Game Fixes = 0x0001, 0x0002 (Just left overs from playing Final Fantasy games, but they may work on this game too).

Sound Plugin = Eternal SPU Plugin 1.41

Cdrom Plugin = ePSXe CDR WNT/W2k core 1.7.0

    Bios = scph1001.bin

If you still have the original file and the .mds file came with the .mdf, you should be able to open the .mds using the RUN ISO option in epsxe 1.7 with out converting or mounting anything. Just use BIOS scph1001.bin and make sure you select it under CONFIG/BIOS. Your problem might be coming from the converted file.
