i have a ps2 and i already downloaded a ps1 game so i know how to burn but in what CD ? CD-R ? and can i play it on ps2? and one other question ... i saw some ppl talking about chipped and unchipped what does it mean ??
Unchipped-stock console from shops. CHipped/modded-it has a modification (software or hardware ie adding a chip to the motherboard) that allows it to do things it's not meant too. My modbo chip which I got installed on my ps2 allows not only burnt ps1/ps2 games to run, but also games from other regions and dvd's There are special memory cards/cd's that allow the games to boot without touching the motherboard...though there are shops that can do it for you for a cost...it's risky stuff. Also for ps1 games it's always cd-r, not rw and dvd's only for 98% of ps2 games (some use cd's )
The PS2 can check to make sure that you are using real game discs, and not copies. In order to play copied games, you have to have a mod chip, or a swap disc. Mod chip is a chip that you put in your PS2 that changes it to allow it to boot up copied discs. Swap discs are discs which you start in your PS2, then they tell you to place your copied disc in and it will start the game. The disc bypasses the checks. You want to burn your games on a quality CD-R (or DVD-R if it's a PS2 game) and using a good program like IMGburn. Burn at a low speed to avoid errors. The small amount of extra time required is nothing compared to having a good copy that work the first time
