Promblems with downloads

I downloaded donkeykong country returns on friday night and it took over 5 hours to complete and not only that but now I have trouble. My downloaded RAR file is corrupt! When I went to extract, as usual, all the files all I found was a corrupt weblink html document, RAR file. When I try to open it, it freezes my computer until I force the browser to end now. I don't want to have to download again seeing as It used alot of my points as well as alot of my bandwidth on the internet. Can someone please help me?

 

You shouldn't have used a web browser to download such a big file, bittorrent clients are for that. I just checked out and there some good torrents on pirate bay you can use. Most likely you'll have to download it again.

I don't know what I can do about the corrupted file though.

 

If the file you downloaded is corrupted there is nothing you can do about it.
You have to re-download it. This time use a download manager like IDM to download.

 

Thanks for the advice but I downloaded another game the same size (epic mickey) and it all worked fine along with other smaller sized games that also were downloaded straight from the RomUlation website so I still don't understand what went wrong this time. Anyway I guess I will just have to try to download again in 4 weeks or so when my bandwidth has been restored. But what about my points on this site? Is there any compensation for the wasted points or is there a way to do the download again without having to go through the site again which will use up more points?
